“Broadband Electromagnetic Scanning Reveals The Inner Secrets of a Pressurized Sewer Line”

BEM™ was featured in the Engineering News Record a number of years ago, detailing a project completed by InfraMetrix. Their technology license has since been acquired by ARCADIS, USA. BEM™ allowed the inspected pressure sewer mains to stay online throughout the pipe wall condition assessment.  The target of the inspections was internal wall loss resulting from crown gas attack.

“BEM PIPELINE ASSESSMENT TECHNOLOGY GREENLIGHTS RAILROAD CROSSING”

The technology proved to
be valuable when a utility client needed to assess a section of a
20-inch cast iron main that runs under a railroad right-of-way.
The task was to determine if the pipe was a good candidate for
cured-in-place-lining.
— Casey Giambrone, Vice President at PPM

BEM™ was also a technique involved in the Critical Pipe Study, a major Australian led 5-year research project into failure mechanisms of critical water mains together with the identification of suitable technologies for their assessment.

BEM™ was the top performer with an accuracy of over 93% flaw detection and area definition.

The thesis “Non-destructive evaluation of ferromagnetic material thickness using Pulsed Eddy Current sensor detector coil voltage decay rate”, written by Nalika Ulapane, discusses a highly successful independent assessment of BEM™, the featured technology of choice nominated by the University of Technology Sydney.

“ROCK SOLID LEADING TECHNOLOGY GROWS GLOBAL DEMAND”

Back in 1987 our managing director Martin Roubal was interviewed by Hume City Council. Here Martin discusses what Rock Solid Group do and the history behind the company and the technology.

In the 1990’s when the Victorian government privatised water, the new owners of the pipeline networks wanted to get an understanding of the condition of the asset...
— Martin Roubal talking to Hume City Council

BEM™ is featured in a number of Asset Management Condition Assessment chapters in the US M77 Standards. Here it describes how our technology can be implemented into a project when dealing with condition assessment of an asset.

This manual provides technical information to aid utility managers and engineers in making informed decisions, along with practical information about how methods can be deployed.
