Wave Impendence (WIP) Technique

If you have the need to determine the condition of non-ferrous pipe walls or structures, or their embedment, then WIP is the technique for you.

Available in a broad range of antennae sizes, the WIP technique can be applied from the surface or from within a pipeline or tunnel.

The technique emits Electro-Magnetic (EM) signal into the wall or the geology surrounding the infrastructure.  The measured response provides details about the wall condition and thickness or about embedment conditions such as voiding, deconsolidation or soil slumping or simply about changes in the geological profile.

Non-metallic structures are commonly used in industries such as;
